Work It: What to Wear to Work for Spring
Spring is great time of the year: the sun is probably out, you can start getting iced coffee without it looking weird, and wearing bright colors doesn't look so out of place. But I find it's harder to dress myself for work in the morning once March and April hit. It's cold in the morning and it might warm up in the afternoon but who knows really because nature doesn't listen to anyone. In the winter it's so easy to just throw on a large knit sweater, a thick scarf, and coat and out the door, but eventually you have to start thinking about what you put on. I always try to set out my clothes the night before so I'm not stumbling around at 7:30am trying to put an outfit together, but when you don't even know what to pick out it's difficult.
Spring outfits are all about layering and little pops of color. Keeping in mind the temperature change that's possible throughout the day is a large part of the thought process. Your outfit has to be able to stand on its own when you take your coat or other various forms of outerwear, but you have to look like your jacket selection had thought behind it, not that you just grabbed whichever one was nearest to the door. It's also the time of year you can start wearing dresses again, and the guess work behind whether or not to put tights on underneath. Because if you choose to wear tights it basically leaves some sort of boots as your only option for footwear. If you opt out of tights, you have a ton of shoe options but did you shave? What if a wind comes and tosses up your dress? Are you really willing to risk that it might still be 54 degrees on your lunch break and you have bare legs? Who knows? All things to think about.
So to help everyone's morning routine go smoothly and not be late for work, I've done the job for you and put together a collection of outfit ideas and separates to help you figure out what to wear to the office this Spring. Have a great day at work, y'all!
